Dan Cheetham

Founder

Dan is an accomplished artist, architect, and musician. Born into a family of classical musicians, he received a scholarship to attend music conservatory and also unearthed a deep curiosity for the interconnection between music, art, and the built environment. He felt pulled toward a more physical outlet for this sublime connection and pivoted to earn a degree in architecture. Dan’s love of the multitudes of artistic expression is reflected in how he approaches design, weaving multiple layers of influences into a holistic composition. Dan is committed to an approach that enhances the surrounding context of each commission, promotes wellness through a sustainable approach to materials, systems, and execution as well as its social and cultural relevance. He is passionate about emphasizing the unique aspects within each artwork in rich and unexpected ways to create opportunities for serendipitous interaction, social collaboration, and community. Inspired by his musical background and after stops in New York, London, San Francisco, and Shanghai, Dan formed FYOOG, a studio based in Austin, TX. FYOOG is devoted to creating one-of-a-kind immersive sculptures that reflect and celebrate the unique essence of each client and place in a multi-layered composition, often supplemented with elegant architectural enhancements that transform space into places that engage, inspire, and delight.
