LOUISVILLE, KY - We designed a series of multi-use pavilions to connect several disjointed public spaces along the Louisville waterfront. This simple yet elegant solution can be assembled in a variety of sizes and spatial configurations.
Flow is the result of an international competition sponsored by the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. Through our research, we learned that recent developments along Louisville's waterfront were well-executed but lacked physical cohesion. We designed Flow as a flexible system of structures that could be used as unique spaces for musical performances, gatherings, concessions and exhibitions. Inspired by the design and movement of riverboat paddles, the pavilions create visual definition along the water's edge, a more intimate scale and a sense of connected space.
